How we write and review our guides

Our guides cite primary sources, including VA.gov, the Code of Federal Regulations, the Federal Register, and SSA.gov, and link to them so you can check. Each article shows its publish date and the date it was last reviewed. VA rules and payment rates change, so we update articles when they do. If you spot something out of date, please let us know.
