A veteran helping veterans get it right
Advocates for Benefits was founded by Troy Horne, a disabled veteran and VA-accredited claims agent, to give veterans and their families the dedicated representation they deserve.
Founder & VA-Accredited Claims Agent
“As a disabled veteran I understand the challenges that you face in getting the rating that you deserve.”
Troy Horne was approved by VA as an Accredited Claims Agent to represent claimants before the Department of Veterans Affairs. To earn that accreditation, he studied Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations and passed VA's federal accreditation exam. That authorizes him to represent claimants in service-connected disability claims, service- and non-service-connected pension claims, Aid & Attendance for veterans and spouses, and DIC for surviving spouses.
He completes continuing education every year to stay current with VA regulations and manuals, and he holds an MBA from Pittsburg State University. After years of helping clients through the VA system, Troy built Advocates for Benefits around a simple idea: veterans deserve an advocate who treats their claim like it matters, because it does.
Troy and our staff represent veterans nationwide from our office in Cabot, Arkansas. We also represent claimants in Social Security disability matters.
How we work
Honest advice
We'll tell you what we see in your file, including when we don't think a claim is likely to succeed. We never guarantee outcomes, because VA decides every claim.
Evidence first
Claims are won on evidence. We focus on what VA needs to see under its own regulations, and we organize it so it's hard to overlook.
Veteran to veteran
Our founder has been through it. We treat every veteran and family member with the respect they earned.
What we are, and what we aren't
Advocates for Benefits is led by a VA-accredited claims agent. We are not a law firm, and our representatives are not attorneys. Accredited claims agents are authorized by VA to prepare, present, and prosecute claims before VA. We do not practice law or give legal advice outside that representation. Learn more about accreditation and how to verify any representative.
